Overview

The Clinical Psychologist is required to provide an array of psychological services (psychometric assessments and psychological therapies) to inpatients and outpatients within the Khoo Teck Puat – National University Children’s Medical Institute (KTP-NUCMI). There will be opportunities to work with children and teenagers (7-19 years old) with medical and/or mental health concerns. The Clinical Psychologist works under the supervision of a Senior Clinical Psychologist.

Job Responsibilities

1. To conduct appropriate psychometric assessments and result interpretation for referred patients.
2. To develop and implement appropriate psychotherapy treatment for inpatients and outpatients.
3. To contribute, as part of a multidisciplinary team, in the overall care plan for the patient.
4. For the Senior Psychologist, to initiate and implement new psychological services with guidance from the Head of Division.
5. To assist in the development of materials for teaching and training.
6. Provide in-service training for department staff as needed.
7. Assist senior team members in the provision of specialized teaching and supervision of interns.
8. To contribute to team level operational tasks.
9. To participate in research projects as a member of the research team, as appropriate.

Requirements

1. Master of Psychology, with specialization in Clinical Psychology, from an accredited university.
2. Registered or eligible for registration with a recognized psychological professional body.
3. Fresh Master level graduates with relevant work/internship experience prior to/during Masters training (for Entry position).
4. Applicants with clinical training in conducting assessments and/or providing psychotherapy to children and adolescents up to the age of 19.
5. A team player who is motivated to provide a high standard of patient care and also able to work independently.
6. Good interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to speak a second language is preferred.
