A healthcare provider in Singapore is seeking a Nursing Leadership and Management professional to lead nursing home services, ensuring holistic care management and high clinical standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, registered with the Singapore Nursing Board, and extensive supervisory experience in healthcare. Job description

Nursing Leadership and Management

  • Lead and manage the full aspects of the nursing home services.

  • Responsible for, and provide leadership for the holistic care management of the resident which involves working with and coordinating with rehab team, allied health services, outsourced medical services etc.

  • Responsible for the MOH inspection and licensing.

  • Play a leading role as a resource person in an effective way of managing a centre.

  • Responsible for the occupancy rate of the centre including recruitment of new residents and retention of existing residents.

  • Responsible for achieving the set targets in meeting the profitability of the centre.

Resource Management

  • Responsible for proper management of resources which is cost effective, meet quality and productivity.

  • Proper management of food costs and cut wastes accordingly.

  • Evaluate the effective and efficient use of consumables, supplies, dressing materials and diapers.

  • Maintain and upkeep a proper inventory control with regular inspection and audits.

Clinical Nursing Quality and Safety

  • Lead the team in delivering consistent and excellent clinical and service quality to residents and sponsors.

  • Responsible for the clinical quality of all residents guided by the set 5 Zeros clinical indicators – Zero Falls, Zero Medication Errors, Zero Nursing Home Acquired Pressure Injury, Zero Restraints and Zero Nursing Home acquired infection.

  • Provide adequate supervision of all staff in carrying out their responsibilities in accordance with the Enhanced Nursing Home Standards (ENHS) guidelines, protocols and standards operating procedures.

  • Provide guidance in the implementation of HCSA and guide the staff when there are new guidelines/protocols.

  • Initiate, lead and implement quality improvement projects across all the centres.

Manpower Management and Development

  • Plan an effective and efficient manpower planning in accordance to the MOH guidelines and standards.

  • Plan proper scheduling based on the staff grades, skill mix and competencies.

  • Motivate, develop, train and continuous upgrade the skills and knowledge of care staff.

  • Conduct training needs analysis and nominate for appropriate training to close any competencies gap.

  • Identify high potential staff and talent managed them accordingly.

Management of IDT/PCC

  • Participate actively in IDT and PCC sessions for the residents.

Support Departments

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operational flow of the Centre.

  • Work closely with operations colleagues to upkeep and maintain the building, facilities and equipment including facilitate in resolving facility issues.

Customer Service and Feedback Management

  • Effective resident and family engagement.

  • Investigate and resolve all feedback and complaints received from all centres.

  • Assist in any investigation that is escalated to HQ.

  • Escalate any unfavourable and unresolved feedback to HQ.

Other Duties

  • Assume any other additional responsibilities as assigned by Chief Nurse (CN).

  • Working with other external institutions, example quality projects.

  • Provide coaching, training and counselling of staff.

  • Perform annual appraisal for all staff.

  • Provide timely submissions of appropriate report to the respective departments.

  • Maintain good communication skills with residents and sponsors.

  • Assist in setting up new nursing homes.

  • Provide mentoring to newly promoted NMs/ANMs as and when the need arises.

  • Provide clinical and non-clinical training for NMs/ANMs.

  • Provide training for emergency medical equipment for new staff.

  • Manage the medical, dental and dietician services for all centres.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse, registered with the Singapore Nursing Board and has at least 10 years of working experience in healthcare or related setting

  • A post-basic qualification in the relevant nursing specialty and with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • More than 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity

  • Team player with strong interpersonal communications skill, customer and quality focused
