Job summary

Chaucer Group in Singapore seeks a Deputy Class Underwriter - Cargo to join its marine underwriting team focused on Cargo across Asia. Based in Singapore, you will support growth and contribute to regional portfolio management.

You will apply Lloyd's/Company Market knowledge to cargo and hull risks, perform slips, rating analyses, and liaise with brokers and risk teams. Degree and Dip CII with 5+ years' experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Lloyd's and/or Company Market.
• Marine Cargo, Specie and Marine Hull experience.
• Degree with professional qualification (Dip CII) or working towards ACII.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing new and renewal risks including slip analysis and premium monitoring.
• Perform rating analyses and contract certainty reviews.
• Assist with PML analyses with modelling/aggregation team.
• Prepare reports and monitor risks on renewals.
• Support developments of underwriting systems and benchmarking models.
• Liaise with brokers and internal teams to uphold underwriting standards.
• Maintain policy data capture and input into Charisma.
• Collaborate with the Marine Global team to align with Asia opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory duties and Treating Customers Fairly.
