Job summary

Mediacorp Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced cameraperson/producer responsible for capturing and editing high-quality visuals for News, Current Affairs, and Documentary programs. You will manage cameras, editing facilities, and LiveU/BGAN devices, with travel to regional locations as needed.

The role requires a strong eye for visual storytelling, knowledge of lighting and audio, and ability to work in varied environments including high-risk areas. Flexibility with shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in video production and broadcasting.
• Operate various types of cameras for production.
• Good working knowledge of location lighting and audio recording.
• Knowledge of transmission devices including bonded cellular and satellite.
• Basic editing in Adobe Premiere and file transfer protocols.
• Willingness to work irregular shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Advise and execute optimal technical setups for filming and production.
• Operate LiveU, BGAN or similar bonded cellular/satellite devices for live broadcasts.
• Ensure all video/audio deliverables meet broadcast technical requirements.
• Edit video deliverables as needed for storytelling and coherence.
• Operate, manage and maintain cameras, lighting and editing facilities.
• Collaborate with bureau staff and HQ to plan filming and editing.
• Travel to various parts of the region for on-location shoots.
• Work in diverse environments including disaster zones and protests.
• Housekeep all video footages for editing and archival.

Job Description

You will play a pivotal role in capturing and editing high-quality visuals for News, Current Affairs (CA), and Documentary programs. This position requires expertise in managing technical equipment, including cameras, editing facilities, and Live U/BGAN (or similar bonded cellular/Sat devices). The role may involve occasional travel to other regions to meet production demands.

In this role, you are required to:

• Advise and execute optimal technical setups for filming and production, demonstrating proficiency in operating various camera types and possessing a sound understanding of location lighting and sound recording
• Operate LiveU, BGAN, or similar bonded cellular/satellite devices to facilitate live broadcasts and remote productions
• Ensure that all video and audio recordings and deliverables meet broadcast technical requirements
• Edit video deliverables as needed, showcasing a keen eye for visual storytelling and narrative coherence
• Operate, manage and maintain technical equipment, including cameras, studio equipment, video editing facilities, and LiveU/BGAN/similar bonded cellular/satellite devices
• Collaborate with bureau correspondents, other bureau staff, desk editors, producers, and assistant producers at the headquarters in Singapore to effectively plan and execute filming and video editing to meet production needs
• Travel to various parts of the region and beyond as required for on‑location filming and production needs
• Work in diverse environments and situations, including disaster zones, high‑risk areas, protests, etc
• Housekeep all video footages for editing and archival
