Responsible for executing Singtel’s regional growth strategy, managing our overseas investments/associates and helping to grow the region’s contribution to the SingTel Group’s performance. Engage shareholder partner to establish strong relationships and advance Singtel’s interests, including potential collaborations beyond the existing joint investments

Make An Impact By

At the Company Level

  • Spearhead and value-add to our overseas investments/associates both strategically and operationally by helping to develop their business strategy
  • Monitor and analyze the business and financial performance of overseas investments/associates. Provide updates to Singtel senior management regularly and raise timely red flags on issues.
    • Financial reporting – Monthly and quarterly financial reporting
    • Financial forecast and budgeting - Periodic financial forecasts and trending, outer year projections and annual operating plan (AOP) budgeting
    • Operational performance reporting – Tracking and analysis of key operational metrics
    • Performance analysis – Monitor KPI and progress towards targets, analyze performance against competitors/industry
  • Review, analyze and acquire a good understanding of the business, industry, regulatory trends and developments so as to provide the Board Members with the strategic guidance, analysis and insights to align directions back to Singtel
  • Support the operational requirements of assigned portfolio, including briefings and admin and logistical support to Board representatives for all Board & Board sub-committee meetings e.g. Finance Committee
  • Support and collaborate with Group Finance for group reporting and accounting issue resolution
  • Partner various Singtel depts, eg M&A teams, Singtel corporate functions (Legal, Tax, Treasury etc) and external advisors (investment bankers, consultants etc) to review financial models, valuations, M&A transactions as well as conduct due diligence, business reviews as and when required
  • Drive value creation e.g. value unlocking initiatives, creating new business ventures to establish collaborations across group entities, identify growth opportunities, etc

At the Country Level

  • Drive market intelligence and competitor’s analysis of relevant markets and other adjacent businesses
  • Assist to strengthen relationships with key influencers, potential & existing business partners, government agencies in relevant market plus shareholders & senior management of assigned portfolio
  • Provide support on key strategic matters (including proposed M&A projects) at both investment and Singtel level

At the Regional Level

  • Assist and support the Singtel Group functions (e.g. network, IT, enterprise, sustainability, NCS, etc) to identify possible regional collaborations

Skills to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/ Accounting / Marketing or related disciplines
  • Min 4 years working experience in regional business and/or financial planning and analysis functions
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, financial matters, business valuation, financial modelling
  • Highly analytical and sensitive to numbers
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory environment and policies
  • Quick to pick up basic technical knowledge relating to telco network, IT, sales, marketing, CX etc
  • Ability to provide strategic direction and advice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build good rapport and collaborative working relationships with all levels of staff within and outside of Singtel
  • Able to work independently, play a hands-on role and exercise flexibility in a challenging and fast-paced environment
  • A strong team-player
  • Well organised and meticulous
