An established industry player is seeking a dynamic Business Development professional to drive growth and foster relationships within the engineering and construction sectors. This role involves preparing reports, managing business development records, and developing proposals to capture new opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset and excellent communication skills, enabling them to effectively interact with clients and internal teams. Prepare internal reports including sales strategies, tender assessments, and risk analysis.
Manage and maintain business development records such as project portfolios, company presentations, and marketing collateral.
Develop business proposals, pre-qualification documents, quotations, and tender submissions.
Collect necessary information and supporting documents from relevant departments.
Manage submissions in both physical form and through digital platforms like Ariba and GeBIZ.
Distribute customer satisfaction surveys and compile results on a bi-annual basis.
Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities through referrals, contacts, and project leads.
Build and sustain strong relationships with clients and consultants.
Research potential clients, including company background and financial standing.
Gather industry intelligence such as project updates and competitor analysis to align with company goals.
Support the development of new business strategies and growth plans.
Keep informed about developments and trends in the construction sector.
Liaise with clients and internal teams to schedule meetings, site visits, and attend tender interviews.
Perform any additional duties or tasks as assigned.
Education:
Diploma or Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in business development, administration, or sales roles.
Preferably experienced in the engineering or construction sector.
Technical Skills:
Skilled in Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Soft Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Confident presenter with strong interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities.
Strategic mindset with a proactive, customer-focused, and team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualities:
Familiarity with M&E technical aspects is advantageous.
Existing connections within the industry are considered a plus.
