Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, business, data management, or related field.
• 10+ years as a Business Analyst with data governance or data platform experience.
• Strong knowledge of metadata management, data governance, glossaries, and data lineage.
• Experience documenting requirements, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
• Proven ability to work with business and technical stakeholders in large enterprises.
• Experience with Agile, backlog management, and UAT.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the implementation and enhancement of enterprise data governance and metadata management solutions.

The role will act as a key bridge between business and technology teams, translating business requirements into functional solutions across metadata management, data governance, platform configuration, testing, and user adoption.

The successful candidate will have strong experience working on Data Management, Data Governance, Analytics, or Enterprise Data Platform initiatives within complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, document, and manage business and functional requirements across data governance and metadata management initiatives.

• Engage business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, challenges, and desired business outcomes.

• Define and document metadata models, business glossaries, data definitions, and governance requirements.

• Design and document data governance workflows, controls, approval processes, and data stewardship procedures.

• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items.

• Work closely with Product Owners to prioritise requirements and support backlog and release planning.

• Support the configuration and implementation of metadata management and data governance platforms.

• Perform functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate platform features, configurations, workflows, and customisations.

• Identify functional gaps, document issues, and work with technical teams through resolution.

• Collaborate with Data Stewards, Product Owners, Data Architects, Engineering teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery.

• Develop user guides, training materials, process documentation, and other supporting materials.

• Conduct user training and support change management and platform adoption activities.

• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to drive alignment and decision-making.

• Support continuous improvement of data governance processes, standards, and operating models.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Data Management, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of Business Analysis experience, with relevant experience supporting Data, Analytics, Data Governance, Data Management, or Enterprise Data Platform implementations.

• Strong understanding of metadata management, data governance, data catalogues, business glossaries, data lineage, and data stewardship concepts.

• Experience defining and documenting business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong experience working with business and technical stakeholders within complex enterprise environments.

• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies, backlog management, sprint planning, and requirements management.

• Hands‑on experience supporting UAT, functional validation, defect management, and release activities.

• Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and requirements elicitation capabilities.

• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, documentation, and communication skills.

• Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable functional requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with metadata management or data governance platforms such as OpenMetadata, Collibra, Alation, Informatica, or similar solutions.

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale data governance or data management programmes.

• Experience working within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated enterprise environments.

• Understanding of data quality, data lineage, data ownership, and data governance operating models.

• Familiarity with enterprise data architecture and modern data platform concepts.
