Qualifications

Job Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Engineering Team at Base and Project sites in providing technical support services, including setting up, configuring, operating, and maintaining electronic equipment involved in outside broadcasting, such as HD and UHD Video, Audio, and Communication Equipment.
2. Operate Radio Frequency Equipment and antenna systems interfacing with broadcast systems for signal delivery.
3. Troubleshoot broadcasting equipment, identify faults at the system level, and communicate issues to the office and manufacturers.
4. Conduct site surveys and deliver project work professionally and promptly.
5. Update all equipment with the latest manufacturer software releases.
6. Maintain technical equipment and systems to safety and technical standards with minimal operational disruption.
7. Prepare Engineering Books for each project with relevant technical information and distribute them to relevant parties before the project.
8. Ensure broadcast equipment and systems are operational at the project site.
9. In the absence of the Unit Manager, liaise with clients to address their needs and communicate them to the Support Team.
10. Conduct post-project testing of video equipment, report unresolved faults using Fault Report Forms, and test reported faulty equipment.
11. Support the Unit Manager in preparing technical and crew reports.
12. Be willing to learn and adapt to new technologies used by NEP.
13. Manage and instruct assistant engineers and system integrators on projects.
14. Work safely at all times, adhering to health and safety policies.
15. Draft technical reports of fieldwork and design engineering workflows.
16. Prepare and amend technical documents throughout project lifecycles.
17. Attend technical meetings as necessary.
18. Be flexible with work hours and travel requirements.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in broadcast television, preferably in outside broadcast environments.
• Familiarity with routers, switchers, tally systems, multiviewers, and related equipment.
• Experience with camera setup, lenses, CCUs, and EVS equipment such as LSM, X-File, X-Hub, IP Director.
• Relevant engineering qualifications or proven track record.
• Understanding of radio, television, transmission, and carrier systems.
• Knowledge of computers, servers, IT systems, and networks.
• Interest in broadcast technology development and application.
• Knowledge of Cisco switches and IP technology is an advantage.
