Job Description:

Our client is a leading biomedical manufacturing company focused on developing innovative products and technologies that improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery. They are now seeking a Senior Biotech R&D Scientist, this person will be responsible for planning, conducting, and analyzing experiments to support the development of new biomedical products, processes, and manufacturing technologies. This role requires a strong foundation in biotechnology, molecular biology, or biomedical engineering and hands-on experience in a regulated laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute experiments related to product innovation, improvement, and process optimization.
  • Develop and validate new assays, bioprocesses, or biomedical materials for manufacturing applications.
  • Conduct literature reviews and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities in biotechnology.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance) to support product development and scale-up.
  • Provide scientific input during feasibility studies, prototyping, and pilot production stages.
  • Analyze data using statistical tools and document findings in detailed technical reports.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and relevant regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, GMP).
  • Maintain accurate lab notebooks and prepare protocols, SOPs, and documentation for product dossiers.
  • Assist in the preparation of patents, grant proposals, or scientific publications.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment, and methodologies that enhance R&D efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with scientific advancements and emerging technologies relevant to biomedical manufacturing.
  • Participate in scientific conferences, workshops, and industry forums as required.

Requirements:

  • Master’s or PhD in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in a biotech, medical device, or biomedical manufacturing R&D environment.
  • Proficient in molecular biology techniques, assay development, bioprocessing, or material science (depending on focus area).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Familiarity with quality and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820) is a strong advantage.
