A leading company in the logistics sector is seeking a Sales and Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Southeast Asia region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in freight forwarding, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in business development. This role involves managing client relationships, developing sales strategies, and leading a team to meet ambitious targets. Drive Freight Forwarding Sales and Business Development across the Southeast Asia region, including Australia, with a focus on acquiring new business opportunities.
Manage and grow existing accounts through effective client relationship management, cross-selling, and upselling strategies.
Develop and implement tailored sales strategies for new and existing clients to support targeted growth.
Lead and mentor the Business Development team to achieve both short-term and long-term goals related to revenue and profitability (monthly, half-yearly targets).
Work closely with the procurement team to secure competitive rates and space allocations, optimizing profitability and ensuring alignment with sales targets.
Continuously monitor and analyze Air and Ocean freight rates, along with market trends, to stay ahead of industry developments and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Prepare and present performance reports for the Sales team to the management team on a weekly, monthly, and half-yearly basis.
Drive the adoption and promotion of in-house digital logistics platform (Cello Square) through strategic marketing initiatives and multi-channel campaigns.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum of 15 years of experience in the global freight forwarding industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on new business development (hunter role).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong expertise across the entire logistics spectrum, including Air and Ocean Freight, Local Transportation, and Contract Logistics/Warehousing.
Well-established network within the logistics and transportation sectors, particularly across Southeast Asia and Australia.
Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented professional with a hands-on approach and a strong drive to succeed.
Proven ability to lead high-level negotiations and communicate effectively across all levels of stakeholders.
Capable of performing in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Demonstrates high integrity, professional accountability, and strong leadership values.
