Job summary

NodeFlair is seeking a Senior Backend / Microservices Engineer for our Singapore team. The role emphasizes building robust microservices with strong backend focus, using Node.js, NestJS, and cloud-based AWS architectures.

You will work across the stack with frontend tech (Angular/React/TypeScript) when needed, optimize databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis), and contribute to CI/CD, testing, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend/frontend development experience.
• Experience with Node.js, NestJS and microservice architecture.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and serverless.
• Proficient in Git, CI/CD, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of security, monitoring, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

About the job Senior Backend / Microservices Engineer (SG)

We are working with a heavily funded leading automotive company, and as part of their continued growth, NodeFlair has been engaged to search for both a Backend / Fullstack Engineer to join their Singapore team.

The package is competitive at SGD 120k - 170k / year (base only).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain microservices, covering both frontend and backend aspects (with more focus on backend)
• Contribute to frontend and backend with JS technologies (Angular, React, TypeScript, NodeJS, NestJS)
• Implement and optimize databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis to support application performance.
• Build cloud-based solutions using AWS for scalable and efficient service delivery.
• Optimize PostgreSQL database schemas and ensure effective data flow through APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other team members to deliver high-quality features.
• Contribute to engineering processes such as CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a full stack engineer, with knowledge of both frontend and backend technologies.
• Familiarity with backend technologies such as NodeJS, NestJS, and experience working with microservice architecture.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and serverless architecture.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Basic understanding of software security, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and TDD.
