Job summary

Airwallex Singapore is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design and deliver robust, scalable lending platforms. You will own services, APIs, and system reliability, partnering with product and security teams to embed credit products for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in software engineering with backend systems.
• 2+ years in technical leadership, mentoring engineers.
• Strong OO programming with backend experience.
• Experience with Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• RESTful APIs design and tooling experience.
• Domain-driven and event-driven architectures in production.
• High-throughput, low-latency distributed systems experience.
• Cloud experience with AWS or GCP; Docker and Kubernetes.
• Observability tooling familiarity (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus).

Responsibilities

• Own design and delivery of services powering lending and credit products.
• Build secure, scalable APIs for embedding credit products.
• Lead design reviews and mentor engineers on architecture and quality.
• Drive resilient distributed design for global scale.
• Improve platform stability via automated testing and monitoring.
