Job summary

SCREENING EAGLE SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer based in Singapore to design, develop, and maintain the cloud application stack for Screening Eagle and Proceq tools. You will ensure resilience and robust service delivery.

Responsibilities include owning backend tasks, designing data structures, and deploying APIs and integrations, with a strong emphasis on testability and DevOps practices, while mentoring junior developers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong programming skills and solid DS/algorithms fundamentals.
• Strong system design and distributed systems knowledge.
• At least 2 years of AWS/GCP experience.
• At least 4 years backend development experience.
• Experience with SQL databases and high-performance queries.
• Experience with Redis or in-memory data stores.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and DevOps tooling.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and open-source oriented.

Responsibilities

• Own backend tasks and collaborate with development teams.
• Strategically choose data structures and algorithms for business logic.
• Develop, test, document and deploy web APIs, batch jobs, webhooks, or integrations.
• Emphasize testability and robust testing practices.
• Document design decisions consistently.
• Adopt DevOps/tech-ops practices with automated tests, releases, and deployments.
• Mentor junior developers in the team.
