Job summary

Encora in Singapore seeks a Senior Backend Developer to design, build, and optimize backend services for payment processing and transaction switching. You will integrate with Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and UPI, and support Base24-eps migrations on Linux environments.

You will analyze requirements, contribute to architecture discussions, and ensure security standards while collaborating with banks, vendors, and QA teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Backend development experience with C++ for enterprise-grade apps and transaction processing.
• Experience in Linux environments, preferably RHEL.
• Experience in payment systems or switching platforms.
• Experience with international payment schemes (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, UPI).
• Shell scripting (Korn Shell preferred).
• Experience with PostgreSQL or relational DBs in backend apps.
• Experience with AWS Cloud for backend/payment apps.
• IBM MQ middleware for enterprise messaging/integration.
• Base24-eps payment switching platform experience.
• Payment security standards including PCI-DSS and secure processing.

Senior Backend Developer

Important Information

Location: Singapore

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance backend services supporting payment processing and transaction switching platforms.

• Develop and maintain integrations with international payment schemes including:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • UPI

• Support payment platform migration initiatives including implementation of Base24-eps on Linux RHEL / Cloud environments.

• Analyse technical requirements and contribute to solution design, architecture discussions, and technical documentation.

• Develop high-performance backend components for large-scale transaction processing environments.

• Perform system optimization, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for payment switching platforms.

• Work closely with QA teams, frontend teams, business stakeholders, banks, vendors, and payment partners.

• Ensure solutions comply with payment security requirements including:

  • PCI-DSS standards
  • Card scheme requirements
  • Secure transaction processing practices

• Document system architecture, integration flows, and technical specifications.

Mandatory Skills & Elaboration

Backend development experience with strong hands-on programming using C++ for enterprise-grade applications and transaction processing systems

Strong experience developing backend applications running on Linux environments, preferably RHEL

Experience in payment systems including payment gateways, transaction processing, card payments, or switching platforms

Experience integrating with international payment schemes such as Visa, Mastercard, Amex, UPI or similar payment networks

Hands-on experience with Linux shell scripting, preferably Korn Shell scripting

Experience working with PostgreSQL or relational databases in backend applications

Experience with AWS Cloud environments supporting backend/payment applications

Experience with IBM MQ middleware for enterprise messaging/integration

Experience with Base24-eps payment switching platform

Experience with payment security standards including PCI-DSS and secure transaction processing practices
