Job summary

Fullerton Healthcare Group Pte. Limited in Singapore is seeking a Senior/Staff Nurse (AU / Scrub Endoscopy) to provide expert perioperative nursing, scrub for a range of procedures, and support the surgeon with instrumentation and asepsis.

You will mentor junior nurses, conduct pre-operative checks, assist in endoscopy procedures, manage IV access and phlebotomy, and ensure infection control standards are followed across the unit.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with SNB
• Diploma or Degree in Nursing / Advanced Diploma (optional)
• Trained and competent in scrubbing and endoscopy
• BCLS and AED certified

Responsibilities

• Perform as a scrub nurse in a variety of surgical procedures
• Assist the surgical team with correct instrumentation, counts and intraoperative support
• Coordinate pre-operative checks and support the surgeon during procedures
• Perform phlebotomy and IV cannulation and ensure safe handling and care of surgical instruments and equipment
• Prepare, operate and troubleshoot endoscopes including scopes and AER
• Assist in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures
• Support safe patient positioning, monitor vital signs, and assist in sedation care as required
• Clean, disinfect, and store endoscopy equipment according to infection control standards
• Supervise and mentor junior nurses
• Provide guidance on safe nursing practices and support staff development
• Lead by example in maintaining nursing standards and quality of care
• Participate in the orientation and training of new staff
• Adhere to and promote compliance with clinical protocols, MOH guidelines and SNB standards of practice
• Participate in audits, root cause analysis and incident reporting
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care, including perioperative and endoscopy records
• Support infection control, workplace safety and risk management initiatives
• Assist in the coordination of equipment maintenance and stock management
• Contribute to nursing-led initiatives, quality improvement and continuing education

SENIOR / STAFF NURSE (AU / SCRUB ENDOSCOPY)

Maintain professional standard in the provision of nursing care and patient education to patients in collaboration with members of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team. Provide orientation and guidance for junior nursing personnel through continuing education and supervision to achieve quality nursing care. Assume responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of the unit in the absence of the Nurse Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

Education

• Registered Nurse with SNB
• Diploma or Degree in Nursing / Advanced Diploma (optional)

• BCLS and AED certified

Experience/ Knowledge

• Competent in phlebotomy and IV cannulation
• Demonstrates pro-active role in anticipating patient needs and in delivering satisfaction
• Able and willing to project a positive image for the company when interacting with external parties
• Ability to work effectively with others in the team and organization to accomplish team and organization goals and to identify and resolve problems
• Attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining a high standard of patient care and safety
• Possesses a pleasant personality, service oriented and good interpersonal and communication skills
• Prior experience of at least 5 years working in a hospital or day surgery centre operating theatre is preferred
• Able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
