Job Description
Checkout.com is actively looking for a driven and agile Senior Associate, Reconciliations to join our growing Finance team in Singapore.
Working as part of our Treasury function, you'll support the reconciliations of Payment Gateway (Schemes/APM) as well as Safeguarding / Client Fund Segregation transactions. Workingg in a high-paced and multifaceted environment, meticulous attention to detail will be key.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, laser-focused and highly organized individual and team leadernot shying away from a high volume of work. You must be a teammate when it comes to getting the job done and assisting wherever you can.
What you'll be doing
- Be an SME in reconciliations, systems and tools processing online payment transactions and apply knowledge of clearing and settlement processes to the scheme and safeguarding reconciliations process.
- Develop an understanding of the process to reconcile Checkout.com's payment gateway processing across multiple bank accounts and providers.
- Identify discrepancies, the respective root causes, and take action to eliminate and prevent any such in perspective.
- Connect with internal and external partners to resolve queries in an effective and timely manner.
- Perform safeguarding reconciliation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve safeguarding issues in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement controls to optimize safeguarding and reconciliation processes
- Lead a team of reconciliation experts focussed on delivering scheme / APM and Safeguarding reconciliations for the APAC region.
- Be responsible for signing off daily reconciliations by the team in APAC and ensuring timely completion of daily tasks in order for the firm to adhere to its regulatory obligations.
- Improve processes, while maintaining robust controls
- Assist with training of junior staff and updating process documentation
- Perform automation work and support new product projects alongside other Treasury and cross-functional teams.
- Support the implementation of reconciliation systems (internal, external)
- Support Reconciliation leadership with ad-hoc tasks and regular critical metric dashboards.
- Support the team on audits both internal and external.
- Continually develop skills and knowledge in line with business growth and expansion.
Qualifications
About you:
- University degree in a numerical subject (and strong academic record) or 2+ years' work experience in reconciliations in a high-volume transaction environment.
- Very good knowledge of MS Excel (Formulas, PQ or VBA).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets with skill and confidence.
- Consistent track record to find end-to-end solutions to issues and work cross-functionally and with remote teams.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines in an evolving environment and often shifting priorities.
- Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills at all levels
- Knowledge of Card Schemes, Alternative Payment Methods or Payin / Payout solutions
- Ability to self-manage individual projects of high complexity and automate manual tasks within the team or department.
- Ability to establish relationships with key partner groups to achieve business outcomes and improve efficiency of processes.
- Fast learner, able to work independently and with minimal direction.
- Sarbanes-Oxley Controls experience will be an added advantage
- Ability to utilize a variety of computer software packages is an added advantage
- Ability to write SQL query, Java scripts and good working knowledge on Power BI, Power Automate & Macros will be an added advantage
