This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 3 days minimum per week in the office.

The ideal candidate is someone who is:

  • Experienced, with 5-7 years of experience in private equity or related fields, of which at least 3 years have been in a buyside, private equity fund environment.
  • Proficient in evaluating, reviewing, and presenting private equity investment opportunities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, capable of advocating for investment ideas.
  • Able to lead due diligence processes and work independently as needed.

What you will do:

  • Identify, evaluate, and execute private equity co-investment opportunities through detailed due diligence, including industry research, financial modeling, and management team assessments.
  • Prepare co-investment memoranda and present recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Lead and support the negotiation and closing processes for new co-investments, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio co-investments, providing insights on performance and supporting exit strategies when applicable.
  • Contribute to client servicing, fundraising efforts, and marketing activities, while representing HarbourVest to external stakeholders.
  • Train Associates and Analysts, fostering team development and collaboration.

What you bring:

  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to evaluate and present private equity opportunities.
  • Capability of executing private equity co-investments, including due diligence and transaction execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into actionable insights.
  • A collaborative attitude, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience managing junior team members is a plus.

Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience (required).

Experience:

  • 5-7 Years of experience in private equity or related fields, with at least 3 years in a buyside private equity fund capacity.
