This data governance and Gen AI procurement role is crucial in strengthening our procurement transformation efforts.
- Ensure the accurate, efficient, and reliable handling of procurement data throughout its lifecycle, and to transform that data into meaningful insights through reporting and analysis.
- Lead and oversee the implementation and integration of generative AI solutions within the procurement function.
- Focuses on leveraging Gen AI capabilities to optimize procurement processes, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve decision-making.
Ensures alignment with overall procurement strategy and collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to maximize the value derived from Gen AI technologies.
Job Responsibilities:
Data Governance & Management:- Work closely with report requestors and Tech teams (PeopleTech, Data Chapter and ADA) to validate their data needs and ensure alignment with data governance principles. Facilitate communication and collaboration across different teams.
- Support the development and maintenance of GPS Control Tower and report automation, overseeing its data lifecycle, including ETL processes, ADA data ingestion and computation. This involves ensuring data quality, consistency, availability, and accessibility for reporting and analytical purposes.
- Define and implement data quality rules, metrics, and processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, and validity. This includes proactive data quality assessments, root cause analysis of data quality issues, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Uphold data governance standards, including regulatory compliance, for all procurement data. Involves working within established governance structures, potentially interacting with the Data stewards or governance team, which oversees data quality, metadata, data ownership, and data access.
- Support the integration of structured and unstructured data into procurement analytics and AI models.
Gen AI in Procurement:Work with procurement leadership to identify and implement Gen AI use cases within the procurement function. This may include implementing Gen AI for tasks such as spend analysis, contract analysis, supplier intelligence, demand forecasting, and chatbot development.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Strategy:- Work closely with respective procurement teams such as sourcing, contract management and procurement operations to embed AI solutions into procurement workflows.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on AI-driven procurement analytics.
- Support change management initiatives to drive adoption of AI-driven procurement processes.
Business-Tech Bridge:- Act as a liaison between the business unit and the Technology team to define and articulate business needs and translate them into clear requirements for generative AI solutions.
- Collaborate with Technology teams on the design, development and deployment of generative AI models into existing business processes and systems.
- Coordinate and facilitate communication between stakeholders, including business unit representatives, Technology team and Data Chapter team.
- Oversee project timelines to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery.
Prompt Engineering and Optimization:- Collaborate closely with the Technology team to refine and improve the prompts used to interact with the generative AI model. This includes:
- Understanding the nuances of prompt design and its impact on Gen AI outputs.
- Analyzing Gen AI responses to identify areas for prompt optimization, including clarity, specificity, and structure.
- Experimenting with different prompt formats, techniques, and parameters to achieve optimal performance for specific business tasks.
- Documenting prompt revisions and their impact on Gen AI output quality, providing valuable insights for future iterations.
Data and Model Management:- Work with Technology teams to identify, prepare, and curate data sets suitable for training and validating generative AI models.
- Work with Data Chapter team to monitor and evaluate the performance of generative AI solutions, track key metrics, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
RDU Gen AI Model Governance and Deck Preparation:- Develop a strong understanding and ensuring compliance with internal standards like the PURE (Purposeful, Unsurprising, Respectful, Explainable) Framework and AI/ML/GenAI Governance Framework.
- Collaborate with UORM and Data Chapter team to prepare the presentation deck for RDU review and approval.
Training:- Assist in drafting a comprehensive training guide that effectively communicates the objective, impact and benefits of generative AI solutions to key stakeholders in business unit.
- Conduct training sessions for the roll out of the new Gen AI applications and tools.
- Assist in training and upskilling the procurement team on GenAI applications and tools.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in computer/data science, linguistics, writing, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years in procurement, data governance, or analytics with exposure to AI/ML/Gen AI concepts.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
- Familiarity with GenAI technologies, NLP, and AI-driven automation.
- Ability to translate business challenges into AI-enabled solutions.
- Familiar with project management methodologies is required. Manage all aspects of project delivery, ensuring projects meet objectives, scope, and milestones.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and derive meaningful insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to facilitate collaborative discussions and problem-solving sessions.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Experienced with Python scripting and data visualization tools such as Tableau to present findings effectively.
