Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated candidate to be part of both the Corporate Development and Investor Relations teams.

The role is multi-faceted, demanding both qualitative and quantitative acumen from the individual. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to the full gamut of SGX business lines and be at the forefront of establishing the key priorities and necessary steps required for the company to remain relevant in our ecosystem (competitors, disruptive technologies, partnerships).

Straddling across both teams will enable the candidate to leverage complementary domain expertise and perspectives, take ownership of workstreams and engage with senior stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of our strategic ambitions and engagements with our external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Corporate Strategy
    • Support in framing the strategic ambition for SGX in the medium to long term to deliver sustainable shareholder value.
    • Provide ideas and recommendations to advance SGX’s growth while appreciating the challenges that the business face (Geographies, Partnerships, Regulatory, Investor expectations, capital constraints).
  • Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Investments
    • The M&A mandate cuts across large scale strategic investments, minority stakes in startup and private companies, divestments and ongoing monitoring of investment portfolio.
    • Lead the end-to-end process from deal origination to execution and putting in place a post-transaction integration plan to ensure realization of deal value contemplated.
    • Key deliverables include:
      • Leading efforts across due diligence, valuation work including preparation of financial models and scenario analysis
      • Engaging internal stakeholders and attaining necessary approvals via investment memos to the investment committee
      • Liaising with third party advisors (banks, lawyers, consultants) to structure and close transactions
  • Investor Relations
    • Key focus in investor targeting and preparation of presentations and other investor-related materials
    • Assist in half-yearly results announcement
    • Work on Annual Report, collaborating with internal teams
    • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, competitors, and peer companies to provide insights to senior management.
    • Help organize and coordinate analysts and investor meetings, conference calls, and presentations.
    • Respond to investor inquiries and maintain positive relationships with existing and potential investors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a Big 4 Advisory, Private Equity, in-house corporate development functions, ideally with experience across due diligence and valuation work.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude.
  • Knowledge in financial markets and investor relations best practices a plus.
