Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Senior Assistant Manager to join the student development team. This role serves as an educator, facilitator, and intermediary to foster student growth and meaningful co-curricular experiences. You will work closely with student governing bodies, club leaders, and various university offices to cultivate leadership, inclusiveness, social responsibility, and accountability in alignment with the university’s educational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Student Governing Bodies / Organisations
Oversee student organisations and their sub-clubs.
Evaluate the relevance and effectiveness of student activities and provide coaching to student leaders on programme implementation.
Facilitate collaboration among clubs, university departments, and external partners to achieve impactful learning outcomes.
Promote intercultural awareness and inclusivity through student initiatives.
Assess potential risks associated with student activities and advise accordingly.
Manage the allocation and utilisation of resources including funding and facilities.
Guide students in organising and leading safe, meaningful overseas programmes.
Data Analysis
Conduct feedback exercises, collate statistics, and analyse event outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
Support the preparation of management reports for submission to MOE and university senior management, where required.
Supervisory Duties
Act as the Lead Facilitator for major University student-led events, coordinating inter-club and inter-office collaboration.
Job Requirements
A recognised university degree with at least 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
Prior experience working with students, particularly in the higher education sector, is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database management systems.
Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
A team player with excellent interpersonal skills across all organisational levels.
Passionate about mentoring and supporting student growth and leadership development.
