Job summary

Woodlands Hospital in Singapore is seeking a Senior/Assistant Manager in Strategic Communications to lead media engagement, crisis management and internal communications. • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism or related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience in a communications role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong writing passion and ability to produce leadership content.
• Good research, organizational and multi-project management skills.

Job Purpose

The Senior/Assistant Manager in Strategic Communications is expected to support the team in media engagement, crisis management and internal communications for colleagues. In doing so, he/she is expected to identify content which profile Woodlands Hospital’s (WH) good work to build identity and public trust, as well as increase colleagues’ understanding of the various aspects of work WH does through internal platforms. In addition, he/she must also have a holistic understanding of the communications role, to provide advice when assigned to workgroups/projects as a contact point, assessing the communications needs and suggesting tactics to meet them.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Specific

• Develop and pitch story ideas to media platforms to increase WH’s profile.
• Draft and prepare materials for media and external audiences including media invites, news releases, fact sheets, speeches, talking points for interviewees and FAQs.
• Facilitate media interviews and tours with minimal supervision
• Build and maintain relationships with local media and key influencers to enhance WH’s reputation.
• Support the team in managing the media during incidents/crises
• Monitor media coverage of WH/healthcare-related news; prepare media coverage reports for management
• Plan and support internal stakeholders for events or assigned projects
• Assigned to be a contact point for various internal stakeholders to gather content for both external and internal platforms.
• Write leadership content for both internal and external platforms. This includes drafting posts for Viva Engage, and opinion pieces for LinkedIn.

General

• Take charge of assigned administrative tasks (vendor management, procurement and documentation) as required by the team’s functions
• Photography and videography for events to be used in various collateral

Job Requirements

Education / Training / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism or a related discipline
• At least 3 years’ of working experience in a communications role preferred
• Excellent written and communication skills
• A strong passion for writing
• Good research and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Videography and photography skills a plus
