Overview:
- To assist the Program Director in implementation of a community preventive paediatric health program. To manage, with nursing and allied health teams, in developmental screening and health education. To implement the program effectively with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring data collection and clinical visits are followed through.
- To assist in management of clinical research, data collection, including database management using RedCAP, or provide surveys through designing platforms for data collection with team. Will be required to go into the community to participate in qualitative interviews.
- To participate in program report writing, presentations when necessary, analysis of data, working with community partners in engagement, meetings and strategic direction planning.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design questionnaires and survey forms for the purposes of data collection. Provide administration and data collection of child health, developmental and family needs questionnaire and surveys in a community-based setting including home visits and school visits
- Coordination and program management activities
- Participate in the workgroup meetings pertaining to research or clinical program management
- Participate in meetings and teachings within the program
- Participate with doctors or professionals with preschool teachers and community social workers in case discussions and protocol management
- Working closely with children, families and stakeholders from across the early childhood sector
- Provide screening and assessment of children’s development and health with nurses in preschools.
- Assess and identify children and families' medical, psychological, social, environmental, and financial needs through simple screening questionnaires.
- Direct patients and families into hospital or partner programs in the clinical protocol.
- Collaboration with clinicians, other health care members, and patient/family to implement, monitor and evaluate care plans and follow-up on outcomes
- Implement, monitor and evaluate the patient’s adherence to care plans and revising it as needed.
- To integrate and coordinate the activities of multiple discipline services or resources needed by patients/families.
- Ensure patients' treatments, and consultations take place promptly and in proper sequence.
- Establish a framework for data collection and on care delivery process and clinical needs
- Make visits to patients’ homes/ partner organization within communities if care coordination requires so.
- Data Collection and maintenance of database:
- Assist in ensuring ethics submission, as well as ensuring proper documentation and data collection of children within the program service.
- Maintaining database in RedCAP/ excel datasheets
- Contributing to statistical analysis, writing of reports, proposals and also publications according to hospital and Ministry of Health requirements
- Consent procedures for participation in the program research projects
- Perform clinical measurements and behavioural observations in accordance with the highest of clinical standards, under supervision by health team members
Job Requirements:
- A Masters/ PhD degree in relevant disciplines (e.g. Nursing, Psychology, Behavioural Science, Social work, Health Sciences, Education)
- Program management or research experience demonstrating cross-disciplinary integration
- Keen interest and can participate in areas of work related to early childhood development and/ or health behaviours
- Keen interest in the area of early child development and/or behaviour
- Excellent command of spoken and written English, with a second language (mandarin/ Malay/ Tamil)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A team player with an ability to work independently
- Experience of 3-5 years in research, hospital work or social service sector work
- Experience working with preschool-age children and/or families is an asset for this position
- Excellence in interpersonal skills
- Procession of statistical analysis skills is an advantage
- Equipped with basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Knowledge of SPSS is a bonus
- Excellent writing/ publication skills with Ability to prepare reports and write-ups for program needs
