About the Role

The job holder is part of the NCCS Corporate Communications Department that handles internal and external communications. The job holder is responsible for research communications and will develop content and implement integrated communications strategies to enhance NCCS' profile as a trusted leader in cancer care and research.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Proactively engaging stakeholders and creating research-related content for traditional media engagement, social media engagement, website, publications, collaterals, videos and visual campaigns
  • Writing press releases, speeches and content on research discoveries
  • Organising media briefings, handling media queries and managing good relationships with media contacts
  • Conceptualising integrated campaigns for research talent profiling
  • Working with stakeholders to organise research-related events, townhalls and visits
  • Providing sound communications counsel to internal stakeholders
  • Proposing and writing research stories for NCCS e-newsletter
  • Tracking, reporting and analysing impact of research comms work

Job Requirements

  • Good university degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience; Science background preferred
  • Strong news sense and proven track record in media relations
  • Excellent command of English language with strong communications skills; proficiency in a second language is an advantage
  • Good understanding of clinical and translational research with ability to translate complex information into simply understood language
  • Strong project management and planning skills to meet set deadlines
  • Creative with the ability to harness digital communication tools and trends
  • Resourceful team player with good interpersonal skills
