A leading university in Singapore is seeking a Senior Assistant Director to lead the Examinations, Central Administration & Governance Team. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in supervisory roles, focusing on academic governance, digital transformation, and enhancing student experiences. This role demands a purpose-driven leader with strong analytical and organizational skills.
The Office of Academic Services plays a key role in advancing the University's educational goals through implementing and administering the academic policies established by the University's academic body. We provide academic services for students from the time of their matriculation to their graduation.
Reporting to the Director of Office of Academic Services, the Senior Assistant Director will lead the Examinations, Central Administration & Governance Team, which is responsible for the smooth operations and strong governance of university-level examinations for 33,000 NTU undergraduate and postgraduate students. We are looking for an agile and experienced leader who is passionate in digital transformation, improvement of operational efficiency, academic governance, and enhancement of student experience.
Conduct of Examinations
Oversees the planning, organisation and execution of the conduct of examinations – semester, centralised and decentralised and special term.
Responsible for coordination with stakeholders, timetabling of examinations, management of examiners and invigilators, planning of invigilation duties, venue planning and resourcing, incident management during examinations and arrangement of approved tailored examination accommodation for students with special educational needs.
Spearheads the review and update of processes, policies, procedures and regulations for the conduct of examinations.
Engages stakeholders and responds to public queries and critical issues raised by Schools.
Makes critical decisions during operational disruptions, incidents in examinations, or reputational risks that impact the University.
Reviews business continuity measures and procedures for the conduct of examinations.
Digital Assessment Solution
Strategic planning of digital assessment transformation requirements, capacity-building and stakeholder engagement.
Coordinates with stakeholders, infrastructure and connectivity readiness for e-assessment and e-examinations.
Reviews processes, policies, procedures and regulations for the conduct of e-examinations with alignment for e-assessment.
Engages stakeholders in conducting e-assessment and e-examinations.
Technology-Enabled Process Automation
Oversees and reviews process automation, system development, and implementation of examination scheduling system and other technology-enabled process automation using new technologies, such as AI and RPA. Works closely with the project teams in enhancement, testing, and implementation.
Documents functional and non-functional requirements with integration with existing systems.
Innovate with new ways of execution through exploration of latest technologies, conducting of suitability assessment of products and services.
Works with stakeholders on user testing, contingency planning, communications plan, and post-migration actions including system performance and report defects.
Central Administration and Governance
Manages and coordinates the budget projection and management at OAS level.
Represents OAS in overseeing the university-wide and OAS-specific academic governance and compliance, such as audit exercises, PDPA governance, reporting of risk assessment, business contingency plan, etc.
Spearheads the human resources related activities at OAS level for recruitment, new staff onboarding, staff engagement and retention.
Assists Director of OAS in leading and/or coordinating other cross-team ad-hoc/special projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University.
10 years of supervisory and administrative experience preferably in the tertiary education sector.
Experience and knowledge in academic services, exam management, audit and governance, stakeholder engagement, digital transformation, event management, and/or central administration, would be advantageous.

Proficient in the use of IT applications, new technologies, and data analytics/visualisation would be advantage.
