A leading staffing services provider in Singapore is looking for an Architect to manage design and construction coordination for a greenfield project. This role encompasses design review, technical direction, and compliance with local regulations. The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in architecture, expertise in Singapore permitting, and proficiency in design software such as Revit and AutoCAD. Excellent communication skills with stakeholders are essential for success in this role.
Architect is the subject matter expert in the Project Engineering Team and plays a vital role in planning, reviewing design, permitting deliverables through working closely with our Company’s appointed design firm(s) and stakeholders, to support the overall construction phase of our Singapore plant and its premises, i.e. a greenfield project start-up. This role supports design work based on project requirements and assists in gathering necessary documents and information for contracting and procurement.
Overall responsible for coordinating design reviews with relevant stakeholders and overseeing the general architectural responsibilities, reporting directly to the Construction Director.
In supporting our Singapore site’s Construction phase, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating between construction project team and design interfacing to ensure a tight communication loop and updates. Liaise closely with Structural and M&E Coordinators to ensure shop drawings are issued and troubleshooting provided as needed to meet targeted the Project construction milestones and timelines.
Administration, overall technical direction and coordination of all architectural engineering and design work in accordance with Project Execution Plans.
Assist in shop drawing review, provide design proposal for cost effective and operationally usable design.
Assist in tender queries based on Architectural expertise.
Coordinate with Permitting and Qualified Persons (QP) for timely delivery of Architectural documents.
Drafting of waivers.
Identify technical and permitting discrepancies through conducting appropriate risk analysis and management.
Liaise closely with architects, design consultants and contractors on design and technical issues.
Oversee documentation and tendering.
Relate design intent from design firm to relevant stakeholders. Acts as the main conduit for coordinating between Design and Construction.
Responsible in preparation of technical and specifications compilation to support procurement packages.
Support architectural design work in accordance with the Building Control Act.
Verify and ensure accuracy and timeliness of drawings produced by design firms and contractors to be in alignment with the Project Master Program.
Bachelor’s degree in architecture (Recognized by Board of Architect, Singapore):
Expertise in Local Singapore Permitting Requirements essential.
Familiar with cleanroom architecture and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) areas.
Good knowledge of Buildability and Green Mark.
Strong familiarity with Singapore Building Codes and Regulations.
Technical skills in 3D Design, 2D Drafting software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks
