Job summary

SMBC Singapore is seeking a Senior Analyst in Structured Trade Finance to manage daily trade transactions, perform pre-processing checks and ensure timely processing within SLAs.

You will apply knowledge of UCP, ISBP and URC, work with clients and stakeholders on transaction statuses, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining strong risk awareness.

The role requires a university degree in Banking & Finance or related discipline and 3–5 years of experience in structured trade.

Qualifications

• University graduate with preference in Banking & Finance or related disciplines.
• Good understanding of UCP, ISBP, URC.
• 3–5 years of structured trade experience for imports/exports.
• Self-starter; works well in a team.
• Good risk awareness, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and decisive communication.
• Resilient and flexible in challenging circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Process daily trade transactions within service level agreements.
• Pre-processing review of customers’ submissions and documentary checks.
• Adhere to regulatory, bank policies, guidelines, controls and compliance requirements.
• Complete daily reconciliation activities and prepare reports to internal stakeholders and/or customers.
• Liaise with client and stakeholders on updating transaction statuses and address queries.
• Contribute to process improvements and other projects as allocated.

Responsibilities

• Process daily trade transactions in a timely and accurate manner within service level agreement
• Perform pre-processing review of customers’ submissions and conduct documentary checks
• Ensure that regulatory, bank’s policies, guidelines, control and compliance requirements are strictly adhered to
• Complete daily reconciliation activities and prepare reports to internal stakeholders and/or customers
• Liaise with client and relevant stake holders on updating transaction statuses and support addressing transaction related queries
• Contribute to various process improvements and other projects as allocated

Requirements

• University graduate with a preference in Banking & Finance or related disciplines
• Good understanding of UCP, ISBP, URC
• At least 3-5years of strucutred trade experience, covering imports and exports trade products
• Self-starter who can work effectively in a team setting
• Ability to manage daily operations with strong risk awareness, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills, decisive in communications
• Resilient and flexible in challenging circumstances
