A global apparel firm in Singapore is looking for a SAP S/4 Senior BI Analyst to bridge between business teams and technical delivery. Responsibilities include gathering reporting requirements, analyzing SAP data, and developing Power BI dashboards. Candidates should have strong skills in SAP data knowledge, KPI definition, and communication. This role promotes data-driven decision-making across various business channels.
Role Context
The SAP S/4 Senior BI Analyst acts as a bridge between business process teams and technical delivery teams, ensuring SAP data (from S/4HANA and related systems) is leveraged effectively through dashboards and reports to support decision-making across Finance, Logistics, Retails and Wholesales channels.
This role involves gathering business reporting requirements, analysing and integrating SAP data, defining data models, developing Power BI dashboards, and ensuring alignment with KPI ( key performance indicators).
It also includes collaboration with technical teams on real-time data replication from SAP to our enterprise data lake.
It requires both technical acumen and a deep understanding of business processes.
The role demands hands-on capabilities in dashboard development and close engagement with end users. The analyst must play a lead role in the initial solution design, prototyping, and data validation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirement Gathering and Analysis
Collaborate with business users to understand reporting challenges and needs
Provide advice on existing dashboards and identify opportunities for improvement or innovation
Prepare comprehensive reporting requirements, clearly outlining KPIs, data sources, and consumption use cases
2. Functional Specifications and Collaboration with Technical Teams
Translate reporting needs into detailed functional and technical specs
Work with data engineers and architects to ensure data pipelines align with design
Participate in FMD (Functional Master Document) reviews and sprint demo cycles
3. SAP S/4 & Data Lake Integration
Coordinate with SAP and data lake teams to validate data replication models
Ensure data from SAP S/4HANA modules (e.g., SD, MM, FI/CO, MDG) is structured for reporting
Propose semantic data layer designs and data mappings
4. Prototyping and Results Delivery
Design and develop dashboard prototypes using Power BI
Prepare intermediate data sets or mock-ups to validate reporting use cases
Ensure KPI definitions are clearly aligned with business logic and validated with stakeholders
Train business users on dashboards and promote self-service usage

Functional Skills
Business Understanding : Ability to interact with business stakeholders and interpret their data and process challenges
KPI & Reporting Logic : Strong ability to define and validate KPIs across different SAP processes
Requirement Documentation : Ability to structure dashboard requirements into clear business and data logic
Communication and Training : Skilled in presenting data concepts and training users on dashboard features
Critical Thinking : Ability to challenge unclear requirements and propose smarter analytics workflows
Data Integration : Experience working with replicated SAP data in a data lake context
Technical Skills
SAP Data Knowledge : Familiarity with tables/views from S/4HANA in SD, MM, FI, CO, MDG
Power BI Development : Proven experience in building dashboards and DAX measures
Data Analysis : Competent in SQL, Excel, and enterprise data validation techniques
Data Lake Concepts : Understanding of cloud data architectures and SAP SLT-based pipelines
Prototyping : Ability to quickly prototype analytics scenarios with mock data or live extracts
Language Required
Fluent English : Primary working language
