What You'll Do

As a Senior Analyst (SKA) within BCG's Insurance Practice Area, you will work with the Southeast Asia-focused Geo Vantage team, providing industry and/or functional expertise and insights whilst working together with case and proposal teams to provide knowledge assets, analysis, and expert advisory. You’ll serve as a thought partner and content expert to case teams and topic/sector leaders, helping structure and solve complex issues.

Our role expectations are:

• Acting as go-to expert on insurance in Southeast Asia, supporting business development, proposal and case work providing analysis to drive insights into specific client issues
• Managing and processing industry focus analysis requests, and assisting consultants with industry specific problems
• Interacting with local teams and using an extensive collection of internal and external information resources to gather, filter, synthesize, package, and deliver insights to case teams and clients
• Carrying strong experience in assessing the financial performance of insurance companies, and strong business analytics capabilities
• Working on cases and content pieces with focus on Insurance space across key Southeast Asian markets (on topics such as Products, Distribution, Sales force effectiveness, Regulations, Post Merger Integration- PMI, Digitization, Cost optimization, Insurtechs, Innovations etc).; guiding and providing inputs to client/team members leading to successful execution of strategy on the said topics.

What You'll Bring

• 2 - 3 years of consulting experience in relevant Insurance topics; candidates with consulting experience preferred
• In lieu of consulting experience, 4-6+ years of industry experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent - preferably in business administration or business management with technology background.
• Excellent analytical and conceptual rigor, along with strong written & verbal comm. skills
• Strong organization and prioritization skills, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently in absence of supervision and to exercise sound judgment.
• Team player with ability to work with different seniority levels from different regions.
• Experience working with third party insurance databases / data sources (e.g. GlobalData, AXCO etc.), preferred

The Knowledge Team (KT) is a group of functional and/or industry experts leveraging deep domain knowledge to enable insight for case teams and clients. KT members are affiliated to BCG Practice Areas, plugged into the strategic agenda and building and deploying leading edge IP data tools/assets to deliver insight.

BCG's Knowledge Team members have the opportunity to be staffed on cases and help co-create insights with case teams and clients through expert perspectives on industry trends, delivery of proprietary data or tools in a particular function and complex research and analysis of market information. KT members also support the PA’s business development and proposals and help to organize and codify the knowledge that enables BCG to deliver superior business value for its clients.

YOU’RE GOOD AT

• Working with case (and proposal) teams
  
  • Provide case support through qualitative and quantitative research and analysis; translating insights and analyses into client-ready slides; full case team integration can be possible up to 12-16 weeks in a year.
  • Participating in client/expert calls and workshops and eventually co-leading modules leveraging the proprietary and third-party data assets and deploying specific methodologies
  • Providing customized analysis for client work, preparing accurate and well-developed decks and reports
  • Creating/supporting reports on new trends, new topics, regulations etc. highlighting overall impact on Insurance
  • Identifying key performance indicators for players in Insurance ecosystem and analyze data to generate insights
  • Supporting client proposals by compiling data and relevant information, providing research, topic input to the proposal team
• Knowledge and expertise development
  
  • Working closely with the local and regional BCG Insurance leadership to own and drive industry and competitor performance benchmarks
  • Collaborating & maintaining the development of new knowledge through participation in knowledge development projects, database, surveys, tools, etc.
  • Promoting innovation at BCG by identifying knowledge capture opportunities - Developing best practice material on various insurance topics to be used by teams or shared with clients
  • Contributing to build sector/topic/ teams and suggesting emerging topic/sectors based on client demand
  • Monitoring key market, regulatory and macroeconomic developments and develop additional proprietary materials such as creation and maintenance of databases, supporting whitepapers and curating internal knowledge documents
