Job summary

Julius Baer Singapore is seeking an experienced Client Onboarding Officer to lead onboarding activities for a diverse client base, ensuring AML/KYC risk is properly assessed and escalations are made to Compliance as needed.

You will mentor a team of 5–8 officers, collaborate with Front Office, Legal, Compliance and Risk Management, and coordinate with Head Office and overseas offices to streamline account openings.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in KYC Onboarding or AML, preferably in Private Banking
• Understanding of Private Banking and Wealth Management industry
• Strong knowledge of MAS 626 Notice & Guidelines
• Knowledge of private banking or trust industry
• Experience in preparing reports and strong Excel skills

Responsibilities

• Review and approve onboarding of new client relationships and accounts for Individuals, Domiciliary Companies, Legal Entities, Financial Institutions, Trusts, Fund, EAMs, ensuring compliance with policies and MAS 626
• Assess Source of Wealth narratives and corroboration for new to bank prospects and existing clients opening new accounts
• Assess risk of opaque legal structures and address true matches for sanctions and AML/CFT risks
• Advise Front employees on KYC/CDD matters and management on AML/CFT risk
• Lead a team of 5-8 Client Onboarding Officers; manage escalations and quality checks
