Job summary

PALO IT Group in Singapore is seeking a seasoned IT Business Analyst to drive requirements from business users and stakeholders across digital product initiatives. You will elicit, document, and prioritize needs, map processes, and craft user stories within an Agile delivery team.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirement discovery workshops and design sprints to elicit and shape business and technical requirements.
• Gather, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements with business users, product owners, SMEs, and developers.
• Analyze and re-engineer business processes by mapping workflows and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, product backlogs, and functional specifications.
• Partner with Product Owners to prioritise features based on business value and delivery objectives.
• Work with Developers, QA, DevOps, and Designers to ensure successful implementation.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to improve business analysis workflows.
• Validate AI-generated artefacts for accuracy and compliance.
• Build process maps, workflows, mock-ups, or prototypes to facilitate stakeholder alignment.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to manage expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirement discovery workshops, design sprints, and stakeholder discussions to elicit and shape business and technical requirements from vague and ambiguous problem spaces for digital products and technology initiatives.
• Gather, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements through close collaboration with business users, product owners, SMEs, designers, technical leads, and other stakeholders.
• Analyse and re-engineer business processes by mapping current and future-state workflows, identifying improvement opportunities, and translating business needs into scalable technology solutions.
• Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, product backlogs, and functional specifications.
• Manage requirements delivery across the project lifecycle, including planning, estimation, prioritisation, risk management, and status reporting to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Partner with Product Owners and Delivery Leads to prioritise features and backlog items based on business value and delivery objectives.
• Work closely with Developers, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Designers throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure successful implementation.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to improve business analysis workflows, including requirement gathering, user story creation, backlog management, process documentation, and workflow automation.
• Validate AI-generated artefacts and recommendations to ensure accuracy, completeness, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
• Create process maps, workflows, mock-ups, or prototypes where appropriate to facilitate stakeholder alignment and solution design.
• Participate actively in collaborative delivery practices, including mob programming or other cross-functional team sessions, to support effective solution development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders through proactive communication and effective expectation management.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• At least 6 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, with proven experience delivering software or digital product initiatives.
• Strong experience in requirements elicitation, business process analysis, process re-engineering, and workflow design.
• Think and work systemically, connecting business, technical, and organisational dimensions to ensure analysis drives meaningful outcomes
• Hands-on experience writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and managing product backlogs in Agile environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing requirements delivery, project timelines, and stakeholder expectations across multiple initiatives.
• Confident in engaging and influencing at senior levels and able to navigate complex organisational dynamics
• Proficiency with business analysis and delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Visio, or other process mapping tools.
• Practical experience using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot) to enhance business analysis activities
• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies.

Good to Have

• Experience in a technology consulting or consulting services environment.
• Experience using analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Analytics.
• Experience mentoring junior Business Analysts or providing technical guidance within a BA team.
• Experience managing or supporting Product Owners or product teams.
• Familiarity with enterprise applications and modern software architecture.
