Job summary

Firmus Technologies is seeking a Senior Engineer to design, build, and operate software-defined infrastructure for AI workloads. You will help evolve scalable, reliable storage platforms and a high‑performance control plane to support world-class AI workloads.

You will ensure stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the mission-critical storage infrastructure, collaborating with SREs and operations to optimize clusters and CI/CD automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6–10 years of experience in infrastructure engineering and/or storage engineering.
• Hands-on experience with bare-metal provisioning and hardware lifecycle management.
• Ability to operate software-defined storage platforms such as Ceph, Weka, Vast Data, DAOS, or Lustre.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, and scalable system architectures.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Bash; familiarity with Rust is a plus.
• Excellent documentation skills and experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable, multi-tenant control plane for AI workloads.
• Contribute to exabyte-scale object storage and high-performance filesystems development.
• Work with bare-metal provisioning tools and orchestration platforms.
• Collaborate with operations to monitor, analyse, and optimise clusters and storage.
• Develop custom Kubernetes operators and orchestration frameworks for large-scale GPUs.
