Job summary

Airwallex, Singapore, is hiring for a backend AI-focused role. You will design and build AI-enabled APIs and scalable systems, working to empower internal teams and external customers with robust, high-performance software.

You will own end-to-end development, mentor teammates, and help shape the next generation of AI-driven financial infrastructure within a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend software development experience, with a focus on AI.
• Experience building internal or customer-facing products with LLMs.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Expertise in building efficient, large-scale software systems.
• Experience designing and developing large-scale, distributed, high-concurrency, high-load and highly available systems.
• A track record of writing high-quality, maintainable code.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.
• A relevant degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Build AI solutions that enable growth and improve internal efficiency across Airwallex.
• Design robust APIs and system architecture for new AI applications.
• Own the end-to-end development of AI-driven solutions for internal teams and external customers.
• Shape the architecture and APIs that underpin advanced AI systems.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to bring customer-focused AI solutions to life.
• Raise engineering standards through high-quality, maintainable code, strong system design and effective mentoring.
