Job summary

Zurich Insurance is seeking a hands-on AI Engineer to turn business problems into secure, scalable AI-powered solutions. You will design, build, ship and continuously improve AI-enabled products that integrate with enterprise data, APIs and systems.

The role requires owning delivery from discovery through production, collaborating with business, product, data and technology teams while strengthening engineering practices in a growing AI group.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years hands-on software, data or AI engineering experience.
• Strong Python engineering skills with backend services.
• Experience with FastAPI or similar Python API framework.
• Proven track record delivering GenAI/LLM solutions.
• Familiarity with embedding retrieval, vector DBs and search.
• Cloud-native delivery on Azure or AWS; CI/CD and IaC.
• Experience with SQL databases and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship production AI-enabled applications and services.
• Design architectures for LLM/RAG, document intelligence and API integrations.
• Develop robust backend services with scalable microservices.
• Monitor performance, reliability, latency and cost post-deployment.
• Contribute to CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and code reviews.
• Collaborate across business, product and tech teams to raise delivery quality.
