The opportunity

We are seeking aSeniorAI Architect to joinHealth AISquadat Manulife Asia, based in Singapore / Hong Kong. In this role, you will lead the design and integration of scalable Health AI solutions across Asia, translatinghealthbusiness priorities into enterprise-ready platform capabilities. You will define solution architecture patterns, integrate Generative AI services withhealth data, workflowsand corehealthplatforms, and ensure solutions are secure, reusable, measurable and aligned with Manulife’s technology standards. Your leadership will help accelerate Health AI adoption by connecting innovation with production-grade delivery, enabling markets to deploy consistent, high-impacthealthAI capabilities while allowing flexibility for local needs.

Responsibilities

• PartnerwithData Scientists,ML Engineersand AI Developerstoarchitect,build and supportscalable HealthAI servicesacrossAsia.
• Collaborate with DataEngineersand IT Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) tounderstand healthdatasourcesanddefine architecture patterns thatprepare, governand optimize data forGenerative AI-basedsolutions.
• Design and guide the implementation of advanced AI solution patterns, including RAG, agentic workflows and multi-agent approaches, to address complex Health AI use cases.
• Work closely with business and technology partners to gather requirements, define solution designs and integrate Health AI capabilities with enterprise platforms in alignment with Manulife’s Generative AI architecture standards.
• Establish reusable architecture patterns, standards, processes and tools that enable consistent delivery of secure and scalable Health AI solutions across markets.
• Drive adoption of Health AI capabilities by influencing stakeholders, shaping implementation roadmaps and ensuring solutions deliver measurable business and customer impact.
• Exploreandapply innovativemethods to leverage structured and unstructuredhealthdatathrough enterpriseAI services, including Azure OpenAI and related platform capabilities.
• Stay current with AI/ML, Generative AI and Health AI technology trends, and translate relevant advancements into architecture guidance that continuously strengthens Manulife’s Health AI capabilities.

We are seeking a candidate who brings:

• An advanced degree in Computer Science,Engineering, Data Science,Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, complemented by significant experiencein AI solution architecture and enterprise-scale technology delivery.
• Proven expertise inarchitecting,developing and scalingGenerative AI solutions, with a track record oftranslatingcomplex businessneeds into secure, reusable and production-ready AI platform capabilities, with at least6years ofrelevantexperience.
• Strong understanding of AI,datapipeline and machine learning productionarchitectures,especially with Azure services, with advanced skills in programming languages such as Python, R and SQL,relevant GenAI orchestrationframeworks such asLangChain,LangGraph, ADKandCrewAI, andapracticalunderstanding of agile solutiondeliveryprinciples.
• Hands-on experience withcloud,dataandAIplatforms such as Azure,Azure OpenAI,Databricks and Spark,with the ability to define architecture patterns and guideimplementationteams from prototype through productionscaling.
• Outstanding communicationand stakeholder managementskills, including the ability toexplaincomplexAI architectureconcepts, trade-offs and implementation roadmapstobothtechnical and non-technicalaudiences.
• A solid track record of successfullydeliveringGenerative AI solutionsinto production,including architecture governance, risk controls, performance monitoring andmeasurable business valuerealization.
• Previous experience ininsurance, health, or related regulated industries, with astrong understanding ofGenerative AI architecturepatternsusingAzure andOpenAI services, is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to leadthrough influence,mentortechnical teams, shape architecture decisionsand collaborate effectively with cross-functionalpartners across business, data, engineering, IT, security and governanceteams.
