Job summary

HFG Insurance Recruitment is assisting a regional client in Asia to hire a Senior Risk Officer specializing in Life & Health risk management. The role focuses on risk assessment, ORSA reviews, and supporting APAC risk activities with a strong actuarial background.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in life and health risk, either in direct or reinsurance, and can translate technical knowledge into practical risk management decisions at a managerial level.

Qualifications

• Actuary background with at least 10 years' experience in direct insurers or reinsurers.
• Strong Life & Health insurance/reinsurance knowledge and risk management capability.
• Ability to apply technical actuarial skills to practical risk management scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Assess Life & Health risks, review risk reports and ORSA, support APAC risk activities.
• Manage risk identification, assessment, monitoring, reporting and escalation with stakeholders.

Job description

Our client is a reinsurance company with strong presence in Asia. They are looking for a Senior Risk Officer with strong Life & Health (L&H) insurance or reinsurance knowledge to join its regional risk team.

Responsibilities

• Focuses on assessing Life & Health risks (Including operational, financial, reputational and mergig risk), reviewing risk reports and ORSA assessments, and supporting broader risk management activities across APAC region.
• Handle th full spectrum of risk identification, assessment, monitoring, reporting, and escalation, ensuring that risk matters are addressed proactively and communicated clearly to key stakeholders.

Requirement:

• Actuary background, with at least 10 years working experience from direct insurers or reinsurers is essential.
• Ideal candidate will have a strong actuarial, risk, valuation or reserving background and be able to apply their technical knowledge to practical risk management.
• Previous risk management experience is not essential, provided the candidate has strong L&H expert especailly on managerial-level experience reviewing valuation results and methodologies.
