About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accounts Executive to join our dynamic team at Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown Central Region. In this full-time role, you will be responsible to provide day to day financial accounting and reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency.
What you'll be doing
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Handle full set of accounts independently.
- Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion of journal entries, AP, and AR.
- Prepare monthly financial statements for management reporting.
- Prepare and review all balance sheet schedules and reconcile them with control accounts, including bank reconciliations.
- Prepare quarterly GST returns for submission to IRAS.
- Liaise with external auditors for the annual financial audit.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Compile the annual budget and support management during the budgeting process.
- Oversee cash flow and fixed deposit placements.
System & Operational Support
- Coordinate with IT and Operations departments for the creation of new product codes and vendor profiles.
- Address and resolve system teething issues.
Banking & Compliance
- Liaise with banks on banking matters, including updates to resolutions.
- Maintain accounting and internal control procedures, and recommend improvements where necessary.
Administrative & Meeting Support
- Organise committee meetings and perform basic minutes writing.
Event & Ad-Hoc Duties
- Coordinate and schedule donation box collections and support ad-hoc finance-led events.
- Provide assistance during major temple events such as Vesak Day, Chinese New Year, and other assigned festivals.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time.
What We’re Looking For:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or equivalent (e.g., ACCA).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with the ability to handle full sets of accounts independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
- Experience with financial systems such as D365, Navision, or AX is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Singapore Accounting Standards and Financial Reporting Standards (FRS).
- Strong minutes writing skills will be an added advantage.
- Proactive, well-organized, and meticulous with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to support major temple events such as Vesak Day and Chinese New Year.
- Prior experience in the charity or non-profit sector is an advantage.
