Job description

Responsibilities:
  • ensures accurate and compliant reporting and book keeping of insurance and non-insurance entities
  • prepares analysis and memos on quarterly MAS returns and annual financial statements;
  • prepares budget, forecasts and business plans;
  • prepares ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment) report, including stress scenario testing;
  • maintains regional master non-insurance general purpose financial statement template, including understanding of the impact of accounting standard changes;
  • reviews financial statements and MAS returns;
  • reviews and approves journals and reconciliations;
  • monitors and reviews various deliverables to regulators and other key stakeholders; and
  • planning and coordination with external auditors.
Requirements:
  • bachelor's degree in accounting with professional designation/certification (CPA or CA);
  • at least 10 years of relevant experience in finance or external audit, in the insurance industry;
  • experience in supervising staff is highly desirable;
  • knowledge of MAS regulations for RBC and financial accounting standards;
  • strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • ability to make firm decisions and express well-considered opinions;
  • demonstrated project management skills and ability to multi-task;
  • proficiency in financial systems and standard software applications such as Peoplesoft and Microsoft Office products.
