An established industry player is seeking a skilled accountant to oversee financial operations in their Singapore subsidiary. This role involves managing the general ledger, ensuring compliance with IFRS, and leading month-end and year-end closing processes. Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management:
Assist the Singapore subsidiary transition to full use of QAD financial system
Oversee the general ledger (GL) and ensure proper recording of transactions.
Ensure that sub-ledgers including inventory, accounts receivable and accounts payable are updated and reconciled monthly to the general ledger
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring that all accounts are accurate and up to date.
Ensure that intercompany transactions and balances are properly recorded and reconciled.
Month-End and Year-End Close:
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring group deadlines are met and financial data is accurate.
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation for all entries.
Ensure that all accruals and provisions are recorded on a monthly basis, especially in relation to license fees and related sales expenses.
Review and validate financial data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with group accounting policies and IFRS.
Tax Compliance:
Assist with local and international tax filings, ensuring compliance with local regulations and tax reporting requirements.
Financial Reporting:
Assist with ensuring the accounting is compliant with IFRS for group reporting
Assist with preparing annual financial statements for the subsidiary in compliance with local accounting standards
Support in the preparation of financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Budgeting and Forecasting Support:
Assist with budget preparation, tracking, and variance analysis.
Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and highlight areas for cost control and improvement.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.
Support the automation of financial reporting and accounting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting and financial regulations, including IFRS
Maintain and document internal controls over financial reporting and safeguard company assets.
Ensure compliance with the Group Delegated Authority Policy
Collaboration and Communication:
Act as a key liaison between the subsidiary and the global finance team, ensuring alignment in financial practices and policies.
Provide support to other departments and respond to financial queries as necessary.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as CA (Singapore) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multinational or subsidiary environment.
Experience with IFRS and local statutory requirements is essential.
Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes, financial reporting, and auditing.
Experience in the retail industry is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong proficiency in accounting software
Excellent understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and reconciliation processes.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse and interpret complex financial data.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Salary and Benefits
$6,000 - $8,000 per month
