Job description

Role:


Performs professional accounting duties and analysis of financial data in support of various accounting functions that may include General Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cost Accounting, and/or Property Accounting. These duties are complex in nature and require advanced professional experience, knowledge and competency in accounting principles and practices.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for various general ledger accounting activities as well as financial reporting to the Parent Company in Houston.
  • Interfaces with A/P, Cost Control, and other personnel to ensure costs are accurately captured, reconciled, and reported along with monitoring the process to ensure that Company practices are effective and efficient.
  • Performs fixed asset accounting ensuring accurate site codes, cost centers, asset lives and depreciation schedules.
  • Responsible for preparation of internal and external audits and work with Auditors as needed with requested information.
  • Responsible for all statutory compliance activities within Singapore and Malaysia
  • Recommends, maintains, and forecasts budget figures
  • Work alongside Project Managers, Cost controllers and other employees with regard to issues that may affect project financial results or forecasts.
  • Acts in close coordination with the General Manager and advises him accordingly about all financial and risk management issues.
  • Responsible for preparation of cash flow forecasts.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • CPA Certification or equivalent
  • Five to seven years relevant experience in one or more areas of accounting. Sound knowledge of general ledger accounting and familiarity with accounts payable/receivable .
  • Experience in utilizing accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and software.
  • Understanding of common accounting and cost controls principles.
  • Requires skill in preparing and reports and skill in developing presentations to managers that encourage understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Suite, SAP
