Job description

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong work ethic to be part of our team as the Senior Accountant responsible for a variety of budget planning and EAC analysis, as well as payroll-related tasks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance across multiple regions. This role is based in Jurong East, Singapore.

Your responsibilities will include:

Reporting to our Financial Management Associate Manager, the Senior Accountant will pro-actively identify and resolve technical issues across the business and programs, in compliance to the legislations and Company policies, processes and instructions. The Senior Accountant will also establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working with business partners to understand stakeholders’ needs and provide value added support.

As a vital team member of our team, the Senior Accountant will (and not limited to):

  • Budget & EAC Management
    • Assist in preparation, consolidation, financial analysis and annual budgets and EAC, and track key budgeting components (Eg, discretionary items) to monitor spend usage.
    • Partner with local offices to gather input, validate assumptions, and ensure alignment with company objectives & budgetary goal as well as prepare and deliver insightful financial reports & presentation in highlighting key trends and opportunities.
  • Payroll Management
    • Support the end-to-end local country national payroll process to ensure timely and accurate salary disbursement across the globe, as well as prepare and support internal and external audits related to payroll processing
    • Prepare, review and file payroll-related taxes and reports accurately and on time and ensuring payroll procedures are compliant with labor laws, tax regulations, company policies and statutory requirements.
    • Review and assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to payroll, including reconciliations.
    • Improving understanding of financial and payroll systems to ensure alignment and accuracy.
  • Treasury and other function support
    • Support treasury functions, consolidated cash forecasting and banking controls.
    • Support special projects for the Company and other system improvements.
    • Continually seek and implement improvements in functions to align, improve productivity, documentation and effective processes.
    • Support cross functional collaboration within Singapore Financial Service centre, HQ FP&A, Human Resources, Budget owners, and other functions within the Company.

About you:

Appropriate degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education with professional experience and specialised training in specific aspects of job functions i.e. active CPA or CA certification or Accounting Undergraduate Degree and MBA with recent training in US GAAP, IFRS and foreign currency.

You will also have:

  • Significant experience working in complex shared services in finance and accounting environment; and experience working within a large multinational corporate environment.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in Budget/EAC and Payroll function.
  • Experience developing and improving systems and procedures using significant initiative and knowledge of US Government cost accounting standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Familiar with various types of general ledger accounting software – working knowledge of SAP is highly regarded.
  • Strong business acumen, ability to adapt and maintain a flexible approach to changing needs or priorities and ability to manage and prioritize numerous activities in a complex environment.
