Job summary

StarHub is seeking a skilled accounting professional to ensure accurate revenue and cost recognition under IFRS. You will drive monthly closings, monitor inventory, and prepare comprehensive financial reports, while coordinating with Product, Billing and IS for new product launches and SAP-based setups.

The role requires IFRS expertise and experience with SAP, Excel and SQL. The ideal candidate will lead a small team, manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and contribute to audit readiness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
• 3–4 years' experience in audit and accounting.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and its application.
• Preferably with product and telecommunications revenue accounting experience, IFRS 15.
• Proficient in ERP software (SAP), Excel, SQL, RPA skills.
• Self-motivated, inquisitive and resourceful.
• Able to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Team player with confidence and maturity.

Responsibilities

• Review and ensure revenue and direct cost are recognized in accordance with accounting standards and practices.
• Execute revenue-related monthly closing activities and reconciliations and ensure proper and timely recording of revenue and its direct cost.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports with analysis and commentary on major variances.
• Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger.
• Lead and guide junior accountant in tasks and collaborate with Product, Billing and IS on new product launches, including test scenarios and SOP updates.
• Prepare accounting treatment and process papers to support revenue or cost recognition.
• Prepare monthly audit schedules and assist in internal and external audit requests.
• Perform UAT for new product launches and system testing.

• Review and ensure revenue and direct cost are recognized in accordance with accounting standards and practices
• Execute revenue related monthly closing activities and reconciliations and ensure proper and timely recording and accounting of revenue and its direct cost
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including the analysis and commentary on major variances
• Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger
• Conduct periodic inventory count and prepares reconciliation to inventory systems and SAP
• Lead and guide junior accountant in task
• Collaborate with Product, Billing and IS teams on new product launch to ensure systems and processes are properly set up before its launch to ensure accurate revenue accounting. This includes setting of test scenarios, performing user acceptance test and updating of standard operating procedures
• Prepare accounting treatment and process papers to support revenue or cost recognition
• Prepare monthly audit schedules and assist in internal and external audit requests
• Perform UAT for new product launches and system testing
• Assist in projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or equivalent with 3-4 years' experience in audit and accounting.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS accounting and its application.
• Preferably with product and telecommunications revenue accounting working experience, particularly on IFRS 15 on revenue recognition.
• Preferably proficient in ERP software (such as SAP), Excel, SQL, RPA skills.
• Self-motivated, inquisitive and resourceful.
• Able to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Team player with confidence and maturity to work effectively with different levels in the organization
