As a Senior Account Director, you will be at the forefront of client engagements, leading the strategic direction and growth of key accounts. This role requires a seasoned leader who can not only manage complex projects but also cultivate senior-level client relationships and drive new business opportunities. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, overseeing the successful delivery of creative solutions while managing profitability and account growth.

To be a fantastic Senior Account Director at Elmwood you’ll focus on these areas:

Relationships: You understand what great client service looks like and are your client’s number one partner. You are

indispensable to your client. You are responsible for the delivery of work, directing those around you.

Creativity: You take a lead or an active role in the strategic direction of your clients. You work closely with your Group Account Director and Senior Creatives to deliver innovative and creative work on brief. You actively identify new ways to engage the client.

Effectiveness: You adhere to best practice throughout the project. You are farming and delivering new business into the pipeline. You are commercially astute, managing your juniors well in order to achieve financial targets.

About the role:

  • Strategic Client Leadership: Lead high-value, complex client accounts, providing top-tier strategic counsel and ensuring that all client work is aligned with business objectives and market trends.
  • Business Development & Growth: Drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, expanding existing client relationships, and actively pursuing new business prospects.
  • Creative Direction & Innovation: Collaborate with senior creatives to develop forward-thinking solutions that push the boundaries of design, while also being grounded in sound business strategy.
  • End-to-End Project Oversight: Oversee the complete lifecycle of client projects, ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, are delivered on time, and are within budget.
  • P&L Management & Financial Accountability: Take full ownership of account-level P&L, ensuring the financial health of projects, from revenue generation to cost management and profitability.
  • forecasting, budget oversight, and profitability tracking. Ensure all projects are scoped accurately, delivered within budget, and meet profitability targets.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Mentor and lead a team of Account Directors and junior staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, high performance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of account management experience, ideally in a creative, branding, or design agency.
  • Strong proficiency in financial management tools, project management software, and industry-standard design tools.
  • In-depth experience in branding, design, and packaging (both 2D and 3D), with a strong portfolio of work that demonstrates your ability to lead and manage high-profile accounts.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to interpret market data, trends, and client insights to inform creative solutions.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and manage teams across disciplines, while fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • A natural relationship builder who excels at managing and expanding senior-level client relationships.
  • Extensive experience in managing account profitability, forecasting revenue, and delivering projects that drive business success.
