Job description

The successful applicant will lead the new team to develop and deliver the Construction and Project Management (CPM) MSc programme in GIFT city, Gujarat, India. The CPM programme will be based on the Belfast-based Construction and Project Management MSc, which has been running successfully for over 15 years.

The successful applicant will have experience in leading and managing a team in construction and project management, with a background in teaching as detailed in the Candidate Information. They will be responsible for ensuring the GIFT CPM programme aligns with the university's teaching and learning objectives, fostering collaboration with module convenors, and acting as the main contact for programme-related issues. They will serve as the liaison between GIFT city and Belfast-based programme teams, lead accreditation efforts, engage with external bodies, and support staff development.

The role involves delivering and managing several programme modules, developing innovative teaching and learning techniques, and acting as an Advisor of Studies to the student cohort. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to gender equality and diversity, with applications from women particularly encouraged.

About the person:

Essential Criteria:

  • Honours degree in Management, Architecture, Building, Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline (minimum 2.1).
  • Extensive experience managing teams and projects in a teaching environment.
  • Experience managing funding, resources, and staff in academia or the construction industry.
  • Relevant experience in construction practice, research, or education.
  • Teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level, including assessment.
  • Ability to develop content and teach in various areas, willing to teach outside core expertise.
  • Experience in management, administrative processes, and outreach activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, team working, and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to leading and growing the GIFT city CPM programme.
  • Willingness to travel within India and to Northern Ireland as required.

Desirable Criteria:

  • PGCHET or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience managing university-level teams and projects.
  • Significant tertiary education teaching and assessment experience.
