Job summary

A*STAR – Agency for Science, Technology and Research in Singapore is seeking an experienced Cleanroom Tool Operator to support semiconductor manufacturing activities.

You will run deposition, etch, lithography and metrology tools, perform routine load/unload, record data in MES, and work 12-hour shifts including weekends. This role requires Nitec/Higher Nitec or Diploma in Engineering/Science, fluent English, and disciplined adherence to SOPs and EHS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Nitec or higher diploma in engineering/science.
• Fluent English communication.
• Prefer experience in semiconductor manufacturing or cleanroom operations.
• Basic understanding of semiconductor processes and SPC concepts.
• Strong discipline in following SOPs, quality standards and EHS requirements.
• Able to work in a cleanroom environment for 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate semiconductor tools across deposition, etch, lithography and metrology.
• Perform routine tool operations including wafer loading/unloading, recipe execution, lot tracking.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic equipment/process issues and perform first-level tool recovery.
• Escalate abnormal tool behavior and safety concerns promptly to engineering or maintenance teams.
• Coordinate with process integration, scientists, engineers and external stakeholders to schedule tool time and collect data.
• Ensure accurate recording of production plan and execution in MES.
• Support wafer logistics by transporting lots between tools, stockers and work areas.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping and ensure tools and work areas are audit-ready at all times.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as chemical top-up and consumable changes.
• Ensure strict compliance with EHS policies and cleanroom protocols.
• Participate in shift handovers and communicate tool status and ongoing activities.
