Job summary

Applied Materials in Bangalore, India, is seeking a Process Engineer to develop and optimize advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes across deposition, etch, epitaxy, and related technologies. You will analyze data, perform DOE studies, transfer processes to new tool platforms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product releases and customer engagements.

A minimum of 2+ years in semiconductor process engineering and a degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering,

Qualifications

Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in related field.
2+ years in semiconductor process engineering.
Experience with capital equipment and customer-facing roles is preferred.
Knowledge of DOE and data analytics.

Responsibilities

Develop, optimize, and qualify semiconductor processes (Deposition, Etch, PVD, EPI).
Transfer processes to new tool platforms and ensure yield, repeatability, and manufacturability.
Collaborate with hardware, software, manufacturing and field teams to support product releases and tech transitions.
Design, execute, and analyze DOE studies to understand process interactions and variables.
Utilize JMP, Minitab, and other analytics tools to drive data-driven decisions.
Support customer demonstrations, process evaluations, and technology benchmarking.
Lead customer process escalations, performing root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
