Job summary

A leading hotel in Singapore seeks a Security Supervisor to manage the activities of the Security Department. The successful candidate will lead a team of security ambassadors, ensure compliance with hotel regulations, and develop safety measures. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of hotel experience in a luxury setting and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

Job description

Job Description:

  • Direct, administer and co-ordinate the activities of the Security Department.
  • Assist to establish and revise the department’s Standard Operating Procedures, rules and regulations, to ensure that standards are in accordance with the operations manual.
  • Ensuring compliance of the hotel rules and regulations.
  • Investigating and taking corrective actions in the case of infringement of the hotel’s rules and regulations.
  • Lead a team of security ambassadors and ensure that they are sufficiently trained with all the security policies and procedures.
  • Plan and schedule the day-to-day activities of all security ambassadors, to ensure that all hotel areas are properly and adequately secured at all times.
  • Monitor ambassadors’ attendance and assist in planning work schedules, to schedule ambassadors’ annual leave and overtime.
  • Update of policies and practices so that they remain relevant and effective.
  • Maintain close liaison with governmental authority to ensure compliance.
  • Do all the security training with the training department.
  • Resolve complaints and emergency situations.
  • Develop and recommend to the management safety and security measure to safeguard VIP’s and other guests, special functions in the hotel, hotel property and ambassadors and vehicles in hotel property.
  • Make recommendations to management on all matters where the security of the hotel, building materials and other property can be improved.
  • Ensure that all the security ambassadors are fully conversant with the operation of all fire equipment in the hotel that the Engineering Department.
  • Investigate the report of any thefts and use sound judgment in dealing with these matters, seeking the concurrence of the management if a police report is to be made.
  • Check performance of personnel reads logbooks to determine needs for action or follow up work, corrects mistakes or inadequacies of personnel.
  • Perform duties common to all supervisors and other duties as may be assigned, which includes conducting performance appraisals.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years hotel experience in 5 star luxury environment is preferred.
  • Passion for high end hospitality with an absolute eye for detail.
  • Willingness to build warm relationships and gain trust at all levels.
  • Excellent listening and negotiation skills.
  • Projects professional image at all times through personal presentation/ interpersonal skills.
  • Organises time and work efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
