Job description

The Security Officer reports directly to the Security Supervisor, carries out operational duties and functions in order to maintain the tenants & shoppers' safety within the Mall.. In view of role requirements, the officer will have opportunity to be rotated to other functions within the department, assist the officer to explore other areas within the security & operational duties.

Basic Operational functions include:

• Perform regular perimeter checks and patrols to ensure that there are no fire/safety violations, vandalism or suspicious activity or person/s on the property.
• Following up with incident reports of various natures regarding the establishments’ interest.
• Responding to fire alarm activations and be familiar with fire safety procedures of evacuation of property if need arises.
• Assisting guests in the mall with queries (E.g. escorting a guest to a specific destination within the mall, etc)
• Operate and monitor security control panels, alarms, and related security equipment to provide property observation and surveillance.
• Maintain records of occurrences, complete necessary paperwork duty performs during working shift.
• Ensure that enforcement of the company’s safety and security policies/regulations to visitors, tenants and staffs are performed in an impartial manner.
• Ensure CCTV surveillance, Alarm, Patrol & Fire Safety Systems are in good working order. These include computers, printers, radio communication sets and Control Access hardware and software.

• Update & report any suspicious movements, discrepancies, deviation of procedure or standard practice.
• Support & provide assistance to the Special Projects Team as & when required during important events as a team effort.

• Ad-hoc duties / projects assigned by the Department/ Management.

Other functions whereby the Officer may be deployed to assist with:

Access Control - CCTV, Electronic Key Cards

• Operating of CCTV, Control Access system, electronic key cards, Doors & Fire Safety Systems in accordance with departmental procedures and objective.

Carpark Management

• Cover reception duty when required, provides support in areas regarding sales and administration of season parking facilities.
• Assist carpark Supervisor with patrol via buggy or foot, report irregularities and attend to

Car Park Help Stations/Equipment breakdown.
• Replenish consumable items such as receipt roll, tickets etc. for carpark machines and carpark leaflets.
• Assist with the carpark entrances, ramp, driveway, taking enforcement action against indiscriminate Parking vehicles which include serving notices and wheel clamping the vehicles.
• Assist in traffic control in the carpark during peak hours or when the car park is busy.
• Assist carpark Supervisor in reserving parking lots (using barricades) during special events.

Requirements:

  • Minimum GCE O Level or equivalent.

  • At least 2 years of related experience in similar industry

  • Holding valid PLRD is a must.

  • First aider certified.

  • Certified in Security Supervision through WDA/NSRS
    WSQ Private Investigator certified

  • Former Police/ military / Civil Defence / Auxiliary Police may apply.

  • For purpose of job rotation, candidate may be required to prepare & submit incident report etc, therefore possess computer knowledge or prior report writing experience would help.

  • Knowledge of Security Control Access System, CCTV and Fire Safety System would be an advantage.


  • This role requires candidates to perform rotating shifts in support of the operational requirement of the mall.
