Requirements (Qualification/ Skills/ Knowledge):

1. Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

2. Preferably with 5 years of maintenance/ service in the semiconductor equipment industry.

3. Knowledge of the semiconductor industry/drive media industry.

4. Good people skills with a pleasant personality.

5, Able to communicate effectively in English and Japanese.

6. Ability to speak and write Japanese is essential as this portion will be the main contact point for technical transfer.

7. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within the team.

8. Able to prepare technical reports.

9. Must be prepared to travel overseas for training and to our customers' location in the region as required.

10. Vehicle allowance will be given to candidate that possess their own vehicle.

Job Description (Tasks):

1. Manage the engineering support section (technical support/field service and process).

2. Assign tasks to highly skilled field service engineers and direct all engineering activities at all customer locations in the territory described in agreement with EC(Japan).

3. To analyse and solve engineering problems.

4. To provide engineering expertise and directions for Field Service Team in case of major technical issues that the Field Service Team may encounter. To act as the interface, main focal point for technical matters between EC(Japan) and R&D Department, Technical Department and Customers.

5. To work with Sales to lead the local Field Service Team and Field Service Installation Engineers from Japan under short term business trips for installation and commissioning of new equipment.

6. To act as Technical Support to provide applications engineering advice for Product Application Team during the process/ application stage.

7. To help the Field Service and Technical Support to adopt best practices to optimize efficiency.

8. To work with Sales to ensure that all work done on site is properly accounted for and to ensure that documents necessary for invoicing the customers are prepared.

9. To work with Sales for promoting products, service proposals and marketing activities.
