Job description

The German European School Singapore (GESS) is looking for expressions of interest for Secondary School Teacher / Part-time commencing 01 August 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the school’s curriculum in the subjects aligned with your qualifications, using effective and up-to-date teaching strategies
  • Plan effectively to maximise student engagement and learning outcomes based on the school’s curriculum
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive, productive and caring learning environment in the classroom
  • Maintain clear, regular and constructive communication with parents
  • Attend teacher team meetings and working groups
  • Participate in school trips, including overnight trips, when possible and required by the role
  • Contribute to whole-school development through cross-sectional collaboration, as required
  • Represent the school professionally and respectfully in all external communications

Key requirements

  • Recognized teaching qualification (2. State Examination or equivalent recognized teaching qualification)
  • Knowledge, understanding or teaching experience of the German secondary school curriculum
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in German and English, as instruction is primarily conducted in German and communication with the international community may occur in English
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and passionate about teaching and supporting the development of young learners
  • Experience with teaching methods that empower individualistic learning
  • Proficient in using digital tools and new media to enhance classroom learning
  • Openness to work in an international school setting
