Position: Secondary Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Teacher (Jan 2026)

Reporting To: Principal

Job Overview:

The appointed candidate will teach A Level ICT Subject to the High School Students as well as IGCSE for Middle Years Students. There is scope to expand and grow in this role and make a valuable contribution to curriculum development.

Job Description:

Teaching, Learning and Assessment

  • To prepare and implement the curriculum for students, with the goals of helping students to develop confidence and proficiency in the subject, a love of learning, as well as preparation for success in the Cambridge international exams.
  • To support students to build critical and creative thinking skills through inquiry, observation, and experimentation.
  • To prepare written reports for each student, including parent conference reports, and references for onward education when applicable.
  • To maintain records and documentation of each student’s learning and progress.
  • To conduct effective parent conferences including preparing detailed assessments of the student’s development and providing relevant examples of the student’s learning activities.
  • To engage with co-teachers through collaboration and discussion of individual students’ needs and daily curriculum planning, Pastoral care and Wider School Life
  • To interact with students using a positive, supportive, respectful and open-minded attitude, language and tone, and to support and sustain the school’s codes of conduct.
  • To remain alert at all times on site to the safety and well-being of the students, and on any off-site activities.
  • To support students’ social and emotional growth.
  • To encourage and provide opportunities for parents to participate in classroom experiences.
  • To recognise that as role models for young people, one’s own personal conduct and the example of behaviour set must be of the highest standards.
  • To prepare assessments, mock exams, coursework as required by the syllabus and school assessment calendar.

Other Duties

  • To attend and participate in staff meetings, team meetings, and other meetings as required.
  • To maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • To communicate in a positive, supportive and professional manner with parents (written and verbal) on an ongoing basis.
  • To establish and maintain a positive relationship of cooperation and respect with coworkers.
  • To contribute to the development of community among staff by having open and constructive communication and to be proactive in feeding ideas and suggestions for school improvement to the relevant responsible persons.

  • To attend professional development workshops and trainings including, but not limited to, internal training events, and to engage constructively in systems of professional appraisal and development.
  • To perform other duties as necessary and as assigned by the SLT to ensure programme compliance and quality services to children and parents.

  • All staff are to be responsible for understanding and applying the School’s Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and procedures, including identifying and reporting any potential risk to a student’s safety
  • Carry out duties such as supervision and cover as and when required.
  • Arrive promptly at lessons, tutor sessions and dismiss students at the correct times
  • Check on students’ attendance at lessons and follow up on absences as appropriate; to liaise with colleagues on matters of concern relating to individual students
  • To write and follow conscientiously, departmental syllabuses and schemes of work for each teaching group based on the relevant year group curriculum
  • Prepare lesson materials and to mark students’ work consistent with Cambridge, departmental and school assessment policy
  • Set and mark appropriate home learning activities in accordance with departmental and school policy; to have the highest reasonable expectation of individual student performance
